As professional painters, we love seeing homes with daring decoration elements, whether it’s in the way they’re furnished or the paintwork. As you would well know, some painting and decorating styles are more daring than others. In this article, we take a look at some of the stranger exterior paint jobs.

Ultimately, you want the house on the street that turns heads for the right reasons. The jury’s still out on whether or not the homes here do so, however, what we can agree on is that they’re certainly interesting to look at! While it’s certainly flamboyant, the rainbow-themed home above is actually quite run-of-the-mill compared to some of the others you’ll find in this article. We’ve got to say we’re actually a big fan of this work; it might not be conventional but you can’t deny it looks amazing! Located in San Francisco, which is known for its trendy population, the home has withstood harsh California conditions and been well maintained over a number of years.

It was only a matter of time before the tiger-print theme made it onto buildings! Located in Kent, England, this home is great to look at once or twice, but we’re guessing the neighbours have had just about enough of it. Interesting, the home was painted in this way as a surprise wedding ‘gift’ to a couple that was off honeymooning at the time of redecorating. The surprise is right!

Another animal-themed paint job, this South Wales house was decorated this way as a tribute to the classic children’s film 101 Dalmatians. However, we’re honestly not sure that the Dalmatians black and white spotted coat translates to outdoor home decorating. The random black splotches look great on a cute puppy, but on a house? Maybe not.

There seems to be a common thread with some of these homes – novelty! This Louis-Vuitton-bag themed home begs the simple question; why? The barred windows and fence really do nothing to add to how classy this property looks, though we’re sure this home gets plenty of attention from passersby.
